What is a Virtual Account?

A Virtual Account lets you receive funds into your World Wallet. Supported funds are automatically converted into the corresponding digital asset for your account type.

Virtual Accounts are available in two types, depending on your location. USD Virtual Accounts receive US dollars via bank transfer, are powered by Lead Bank (account issuance) and Bridge (conversion to USDC), and support paycheck and employer deposits.

Ripio Virtual Accounts receive local currency via your country's local payment network, are available in Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico, powered by Ripio, and do not support paycheck or employer deposits.

This means:

  • You can receive business payments. USD Virtual Account holders can also receive paycheck and employer deposits. This is not available for Ripio Virtual Accounts.
  • You can fund your World Wallet by sending money from your own bank account.

Note: Supported currencies depend on your location. Check your app for the latest availability.

How it works

USD Virtual Account

The flow of funds is simple:

  1. Money is sent to your virtual account number.
  2. Lead Bank (the provider) receives the transfer.
  3. The money is converted into stablecoins (USDC) by Bridge.
  4. The USDC is added to your World Wallet on World Chain.
